Sikkim Police Conferred with President’s Police Colour Award

The Sikkim Police has been conferred with the President’s Police Colour Award, recognising its outstanding service, professionalism, and dedication to duty.

About the President’s Police Colour (Nishaan)
Popularly known as the Nishaan, the award symbolises bravery, discipline, and commitment. It is worn with pride on the left sleeve of the police uniform and represents one of the highest ceremonial honours for a police force in India.

Historic Achievement for Sikkim
Since Independence, only 14 states had received this prestigious distinction. With this honour, Sikkim becomes the 15th state overall and the 3rd state in the North-East to be awarded the President’s Police Colour—marking a significant milestone for the state police force.

Formal Presentation to Follow
The flag and insignia associated with the award will be formally presented to the Sikkim Police during a Colour Presentation Parade, to be held at a later date.
