Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan Awards 2025

Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav presented the Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan Awards 2025 to top-performing cities under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) and recognized Indore and Udaipur as Wetland Cities under the Ramsar Convention.

Recognition of Best-Performing Cities

Out of 130 NCAP cities, 11 cities were honoured for their exceptional commitment and innovation in improving air quality.

Category-wise Winners

  • Category 1 (Population over 10 lakh):
    • Indore secured the top spot with a perfect score of 200/200
    • Jabalpur ranked second with 199
    • Agra and Surat tied at 196
  • Category 2 (Population 3–10 lakh):
    • Amravati, Jhansi, Moradabad, and Alwar received recognition
  • Category 3 (Population under 3 lakh):
    • Dewas, Parwanoo, and Angul were awarded

Dual Recognition for Indore and Udaipur

Alongside the air quality awards, Indore and Udaipur were also recognised as Wetland Cities under the Ramsar Convention, highlighting their achievements in sustainable urban ecosystem management.
