• Prime Minister Narendra Modi received Mauritius’ highest award: The Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean (GCSK) on March 11, 2025.
• PM Modi is the first Indian and fifth foreign national to receive this honour.
• Recognized for strengthening India-Mauritius ties.
• This is PM Modi’s 21st international award conferred by a foreign nation.

PM Modi’s Visit to Mauritius:

• Met President Dharambeer Gokhool at the State House.
• Handed over Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) cards to President Gokhool and First Lady Vrinda Gokhool.
• Attended state lunch hosted by President Gokhool.
• Paid homage at the samadhis of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam & Sir Anerood Jugnauth at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden, accompanied by Mauritius PM Navinchandra Ramgoolam.
