Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025

Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan launched the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025, a nationwide innovation movement aimed at engaging school students across India in ideation and product development.

Organisers and Collaborators

The initiative is being organised by the Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSEL), Ministry of Education, in collaboration with:

• Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog
• All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)

Themes of the Buildathon

The programme encourages students to innovate around four central themes:

1. Vocal for Local
2. Atmanirbhar Bharat
3. Swadeshi
4. Samriddhi

Objectives

The Buildathon seeks to:

• Strengthen the culture of innovation at the grassroots
• Inspire creative thinking for national development
• Promote self-reliance and sustainable growth
• Engage schools in synchronized innovation activities
• Project India as a global innovation capital, including through a potential world record
• Celebrate young problem-solvers on national and international platforms

Building on Previous Success

The initiative builds on the School Innovation Marathon 2024, which led to:

• The Student Innovator Programme (SIP)
• The Student Entrepreneurship Programme (SEP)
• Patents and startup ventures emerging from Atal Tinkering Labs
