WCD Ministry Announces New Helpline Number for POSHAN and PMMVY

The Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD) has announced a new toll-free helpline number — 1515 — for the POSHAN and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) schemes. The new number will be operational from 1st November 2025, replacing the existing 14408 helpline.

Key Highlights:

• Objective of the Change:
  The move aims to simplify recall, improve accessibility, and ensure efficient delivery of information and support to beneficiaries across India.
• Transition Period:
  As integration of the new number is underway, beneficiaries may face temporary connectivity issues. During this period, they can continue using the old helpline (14408) until full migration to 1515 is completed.
• Scope of Services:
  The helpline will continue to function as a single-point contact for:
  • Queries and grievance redressal related to POSHAN Abhiyaan.
  • Assistance and information on PMMVY benefits and eligibility.
• Government Commitment:
  The WCD Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to smooth communication and uninterrupted beneficiary support, ensuring that all women and children continue to receive timely assistance under both flagship schemes.
