10th Landport between India and Bangladesh inaugurated at Dawki

The 10th Landport between India and Bangladesh was inaugurated at Dawki in Meghalaya on May 4.

  • The landport will boost trade and facilitate easier travel between the two countries.
  • It will strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two countries and open up many new opportunities.
  • Dawki landport provides facilities like the passenger and cargo terminal buildings, warehouse, canteen, toilet blocks for export drivers, sewage treatment plant among others to facilitate movement of people and trade between the two countries.
  • The Dawki landport is situated about 84 kilometres away from the Meghalaya capital Shillong. On the Bangladesh side, it faces Tamabil in Sylhet district.
