Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC)

At the Asia Zero-Emission Community (AZEC) Plus meeting, India’s External Affairs Minister represented the country virtually, highlighting India’s growing engagement in regional clean energy cooperation. The meeting was chaired by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and witnessed participation from 11 core AZEC member nations, including Australia and Singapore, along with partner countries such as India, Bangladesh, and South Korea.

About POWERR

During the meeting, Japan unveiled a new initiative titled Partnership on Wide Energy and Resources Resilience (POWERR) Asia, aimed at providing financial assistance to Asian countries facing fuel supply shortages and disruptions in energy supply chains.

The Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) serves as a collaborative platform focused on achieving carbon neutrality and net-zero emissions across Asia. It brings together 11 member countries—Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam—working collectively toward sustainable energy transition in the region.
