Australia–Canada–India Technology and Innovation (ACITI) Partnership

India, Australia and Canada signed the MoU on Australia–Canada–India Technology and Innovation (ACITI) Partnership on 9 July to deepen trilateral cooperation in technology, innovation and strategic industries.

The ACITI Partnership was announced following a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on the sidelines of the 2025 G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The partnership aims to strengthen collaboration in key sectors such as clean energy, critical minerals, and diversified and resilient supply chains.

The three countries will also explore ways to accelerate the development and large-scale adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve public services, productivity and the quality of life of their citizens.

According to the joint statement, the ACITI Partnership will leverage the technological, industrial and innovation strengths of all three countries while advancing shared strategic and economic objectives.

The initiative seeks to support the transition towards net-zero emissions, enhance the diversification of global supply chains, and promote a secure, sustainable and resilient technological ecosystem.

The partnership reflects the growing emphasis on trusted technology collaboration, economic resilience, and strategic cooperation among like-minded democracies in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.
