Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited his parliamentary constituency Varanasi on November30, 2020 to take part in the world famous Dev Deepawali festival.
- This was the first time that a Prime Minister took part in the spectacular Dev Deepawali festival.
- The Dev Diwali-often referred to as the “Diwali of Gods”, is marked on Kartik Purnima. It is celebrated in Varanasi.
- The Full Moon Day, also known as the Purnima Tithi in the Hindu month of Kartik, is known as Kartik Purnima.
- Kartik Purnima is also known as Tripuri Purnima and Tripurari Purnima.
