Exercise Udara Shakti 2026

 Why in News?

The Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) conducted a bilateral air exercise ‘Udara Shakti 2026’ at Subang Air Base, Malaysia. The exercise focused on enhancing operational cooperation, interoperability and the exchange of best practices between the two air forces.

Key Points

Exercise Udara Shakti 2026 involved Air Warriors from India and Malaysia participating in joint field training and Subject Matter Expert (SME) exchanges.

The exercise provided an opportunity for personnel from both countries to train together and develop a better understanding of each other’s operational procedures, practices and approaches to air operations.

The exercise focused on operational learning, exchange of best practices and enhancing interoperability between the IAF and RMAF. 

Exercise Pitch Black

Earlier, the Royal Australian Air Force’s Exercise Pitch Black, a major multinational air combat exercise, was conducted over northern Australia from 20 July to 7 August 2026.

Exercise Pitch Black provides participating air forces an opportunity to undertake complex air combat training and enhance interoperability in a multinational operational environment.
