IAF launches ‘Operation Sanjeevani’

Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft C-130J airlifted critical medical supplies to Male, Maldives as ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ on April 2, 2020.

Maldives has faced shortage of essential medical supplies as its connectivity with India– its main source of medical supplies, was broken after COVID-19 lockdown. At the request of Maldives, the IAF aircraft activated Operation Sanjeevani and lifted these medicines from airports in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Madurai before flying to the Maldives.

Besides, quarantine facilities created at IAF bases across the country continue in a state of readiness.
