India Hosts 61st Meeting of International Committee of Legal Metrology

India hosted the 61st Meeting of the International Committee of Legal Metrology (CIML) from 26 to 28 October 2026 in New Delhi. It was the first time India hosted this international meeting.

• Paris Headquartered International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) is an intergovernmental organisation that promotes the global harmonisation of legal metrology procedures.
• It develops international recommendations and standards for measuring instruments and measurement practices.
• Its work facilitates international trade, protects consumers and promotes confidence in measurement results.

About CIML

• The International Committee of Legal Metrology (CIML) is the principal decision-making body of the OIML.
• It brings together representatives of OIML Member States to discuss and coordinate international cooperation in legal metrology.
