India–UK Critical Minerals Global Supply Chain Observatory (GSCO)

The India–UK Critical Minerals Global Supply Chain Observatory (GSCO) was formally launched on 4th June in New Delhi.

The launch marks a significant milestone in the growing India–UK partnership on critical minerals and supply chain resilience, reinforcing cooperation in securing the resources essential for clean energy transitions, advanced manufacturing, electric mobility and emerging technologies.

The Observatory is a joint initiative of TEXMiN(TTRP, DST, GoI),, Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad and University of Cambridge, aimed at creating a data-driven platform for monitoring and analysing global critical mineral supply chains.

The initiative was announced during the India–UK Prime Ministers’ bilateral engagement in October 2025 and subsequently formalized through a Research Collaboration Agreement signed in March 2026.
