The Indian Army has raised its first Baaz Battalion of sophisticated drones in the border state of Punjab to enhance aerial agility, responsiveness and battlefield reach.
The battalion will serve as the eyes in the sky and provide an edge on the battlefield.
The Vajra Corps, or 11 Corps of the Army, known as the defenders of Punjab, is the first formation to operationalise the Baaz Battalion. The name ‘Baaz’ has been derived from a bird of prey.
