India’s first pod taxi

-India’s much awaited first pod taxi project is now in the last phase of completion.

-It is also called the personal rapid transit (PRT) network.

-American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)’s saftey norms will be followed in this project.

-India’s first pod taxi, which is Rs. 4000 crore project, will run on Delhi-Gurugram pilot corridor (12.3 km.) from Delhi-Haryana border to Rajiv Chowk in Gurugram.

-National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) under Ministry of transport, has been mandated to execute this project.

-One panel in India has recommended the Automated People Mover (APM) standards of the USA for India’s first pod project. It have been prepared by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

-Union Government had approved the first pod taxi project of India in March 2016.
