Land Port Management System (LPMS)

 Why in News?

Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the Land Port Management System (LPMS) – ‘VINIMAY’ in New Delhi on 9 June 2026. About LPMS – ‘VINIMAY’

The Land Port Management System (LPMS–VINIMAY) is a state-of-the-art digital platform designed to integrate the operations of land ports into a unified digital ecosystem.

The platform enables secure and real-time exchange of logistics, regulatory, and operational information among various stakeholders. It seeks to bring land ports on par with the advanced digital systems already operational at airports and seaports.

Key Features

LPMS introduces end-to-end digital workflows for both cargo and passenger processing. The system includes:

  • Online slot booking.
  • Digital payments.
  • Real-time tracking of cargo and passenger movement.
  • Single-window clearance mechanisms.
  • Seamless coordination among government agencies and private operators.

As a neutral and open platform, LPMS aims to reduce delays, improve transparency, and enhance operational efficiency at border crossings.

Integration with National Digital Platforms

LPMS is fully integrated with major national logistics and trade facilitation platforms, including:

  • ICEGATE
