Logistics Port Performance Index (LPPI) 2024–25

India has taken a significant step towards modernising its maritime and logistics sector with the launch of the Logistics Port Performance Index (LPPI) 2024–25 and four major digital initiatives aimed at improving governance, transparency, efficiency, and ease of doing business in the shipping ecosystem.

The initiatives were launched by Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal during the 37th Foundation Day celebrations of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) in Mumbai.

Logistics Port Performance Index (LPPI)

The LPPI has been developed under the Sagar Aankalan Framework and serves as a national benchmarking mechanism to evaluate and improve the operational performance of Indian ports.

Parameters Assessed: The index evaluates ports across three major cargo segments:

  • Container Cargo.
  • Ship berth day output

Top Performing Ports
