Mission Jeevan Raksha: 42 people saved by RPF

Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel have saved 42 people in January 2022 as part of Mission Jeevan Raksha.

  • Railways Ministry said that RPF has been saving lives of persons in danger of coming under the wheels of running trains at various railway stations.
  • Mahila Suraksha: To provide better security to the women passengers several new initiatives were taken under the code name Mahila Suraksha.
  • Meri Saheli teams: In January 2022, RPF had deployed Meri Saheli teams at major railway stations with an objective to provide security to lady passengers especially travelling alone and covered around 13 thousand of trains all over the country.
  • RPF has arrested five persons in cases of molestation and eve-teasing and arrested over two thousand persons found travelling in ladies coaches.
  • More than one thousand children in need of care and protection who came in contact with Indian Railways were rescued in January 2022.
