Peano-HASEL-nimble robotic muscles

  • As per the Science magazine, researchers from the University of Colorado Boulder has developed an artificial (mimetic) muscles that can sense their own movements and self-heal from electrical damage.
  • It is a class of soft electrohydraulic transducers, named Peano-HASEL (hydraulically amplified self-healing electrostatic) actuators.
  • This nimble robotic muscles is as strong as an elephant and as bendy as an octopus.
  • This technology could streamline bulky metal androids and enable them to mimic human-like movements.
