PM Modi inaugurates the PM MITRA Park at Warangal, Telangana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the PM MITRA Park at Warangal, Telangana, on May 10, 2026, marking a major milestone in India’s textile and industrial development journey.

Developed at a cost of ₹1,695.54 crore, the park is the country’s first functional PM MITRA Park and represents the operationalisation of the Government of India’s “5F” vision:

5F: Farm→Fibre→Factory→Fashion→Foreign5F:\ Farm\rightarrow Fibre\rightarrow Factory\rightarrow Fashion\rightarrow Foreign5F: Farm→Fibre→Factory→Fashion→Foreign

The vision seeks to create an integrated textile value chain from raw material production to global exports.

Strategic Location and Connectivity

The PM MITRA Park is located near the proposed Nagpur-Vijayawada Greenfield Expressway and in proximity to National Highway 163.

Its strategic location provides:

  • Excellent multimodal connectivity,
  • Access to major railway networks,
  • Linkages to seaports, and
  • Efficient logistics support for domestic and international trade.

PM MITRA Scheme

The Ministry of Textiles approved seven PM MITRA Parks in March 2023 to strengthen India’s textile infrastructure ecosystem.

The parks are being developed in:

  • Telangana
  • Tamil Nadu
  • Karnataka
  • Maharashtra
  • Uttar Pradesh
  • Gujarat
  • Madhya Pradesh

PM MITRA stands for:  Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel

The scheme aims to create globally competitive integrated textile parks with world-class infrastructure.

Kakatiya Mega Textile Park Integrated Under Scheme

The Kakatiya Mega Textile Park was proposed by the Telangana government in March 2022 for inclusion under the PM MITRA Scheme.

Following approval under the Brownfield category, the park became eligible for:

  • Development Capital Support of ₹200 crore, and
  • Competitive Incentive Support (CIS) of ₹300 crore for industries established within the park.

Incentives for Textile Industries

Manufacturing units operating in PM MITRA Parks are eligible for:

  • Competitive Incentive Support under the PM MITRA Scheme,
  • Benefits through convergence with other central government schemes, and
  • Incentives under the Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Textiles.

Each park has a dedicated CIS fund of ₹300 crore to attract investments and improve competitiveness.

  • Enhance exports and global competitiveness,
  • Generate large-scale employment,
  • Promote integrated value chains,
