U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), Bengaluru celebrated Satellite Technology Day (STD) – 2024 on 19th April, commemorating the successful launch of India’s first satellite, Aryabhata, on April 19, 1975.
- STD-2024 holds immense significance as it marks the beginning of the 50th year of Aryabhata Launch which was accomplished under the able leadership of Prof U R Rao.
- The tradition of celebrating Satellite Technology Day (STD) annually at the Centre on April 19, began in 2000.
