Truck Mounted Attenuators (TMAs)

Advanced safety systems such as Truck Mounted Attenuators (TMAs) are being deployed across multiple highway sections, significantly improving safety for both road workers and commuters. These globally adopted safety devices are designed to absorb impact energy during collisions, thereby reducing accident severity and saving lives.

TMAs function as impact-absorbing shields, protecting maintenance crews working ahead of the vehicle, lowering injury risks for occupants of colliding vehicles, and minimizing the overall impact in highway work zones.

The deployed systems are equipped with high-intensity wig-wag warning lights, which flash in alternating patterns to form directional arrows. These visual signals provide timely alerts to approaching drivers, enhancing awareness and preventing accidents.

So far, across nine highway projects, a total of 33 TMAs and 15 Towable Truck Mounted Attenuators (TTMAs) have been installed, marking a significant step towards adopting global best practices in road safety management.
