Union Finance Minister Launches ‘PRARAMBH 2026’

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on 20th March launched ‘PRARAMBH 2026’, a nationwide awareness campaign by the Income Tax Department to educate citizens about the provisions of the new Income Tax Act, 2025. The act will come into effect from April 1, 2026.

The campaign, spanning print, television, radio, digital and social media platforms, aims to build awareness about the new tax regime through simplified communication, guidance material and public engagement initiatives.

As part of the initiative, an AI-enabled chatbot ‘Kar Saathi’ has been launched to assist taxpayers with queries related to the new Act, rules and forms. Support will also be provided through Aaykar Seva Kendras across the country.
