Union Home Minister Launches NCRB-Abhigyan App

The Union Home Minister launched four new digital applications developed by the National Crime Records Bureau during the 26th All India Fingerprint Conference 2026 held in New Delhi.

  • The applications—NCRB-Abhigyan, CrPI, e-Prosecution 2.0, and e-Forensics 2.0—aim to strengthen technology-driven policing, criminal investigation, and criminal justice delivery.

Key Applications

NCRB-Abhigyan:

  • A mobile application for field police personnel.
  • Enables real-time search of the National Fingerprint Database from any location.
  • Facilitates faster identification of suspects and improves field investigations.

CrPI (Crime and Criminal Profiling/Identification Application):

  • Integrates multi-modal biometric technologies, including:
    • Facial Recognition
    • Iris Matching
    • DNA Matching
  • Enhances the accuracy of criminal identification and investigation.

e-Forensics 2.0:

  • A digital platform connecting forensic science laboratories with investigating agencies across India.
  • Enables seamless exchange of forensic reports and case-related information.
  • Improves efficiency and reduces delays in forensic investigations.

e-Prosecution 2.0:

  • Establishes digital coordination among the police, prosecution, and judiciary.
  • Facilitates end-to-end case management from investigation to prosecution.
  • Ensures timely prosecution and punishment once an offender is identified.
