6th edition of the National Startup Awards (NSA 6.0)

Why in News?

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has launched the 6th edition of the National Startup Awards (NSA 6.0) under the Startup India initiative to recognise innovation and entrepreneurship in India.

The launch comes as Startup India completes 10 years in 2026.

About the National Startup Awards

• Launched: 2019.
• Implementing department: Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
• Parent initiative: Startup India.
• Objective: Recognise startups that develop innovative solutions and demonstrate outstanding entrepreneurial performance.
• Editions: NSA 6.0 is the sixth edition, building on the previous five editions.

Key Objectives

• Recognise innovation: Honour startups developing innovative products, services and solutions.
• Promote scalability: Encourage business models capable of expanding and serving larger markets.
• Encourage sustainability: Recognise entrepreneurship that considers long-term economic, social and environmental outcomes.
• Generate socio-economic impact: Promote solutions addressing important societal and economic challenges.
• Strengthen global competitiveness: Encourage Indian startups to develop solutions that can compete in international markets.
• Promote inclusion: Encourage wider participation in India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

• Objective: Build a strong, inclusive and innovation-driven startup ecosystem in India.
