Why in News?
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on 24 September launched the Digital Connectivity Rating (DCR) Platform, an integrated digital system that enables consumers to view the digital connectivity ratings of properties and facilitates the end-to-end rating process. The platform also includes a mobile application for testing digital connectivity.
About DCR Platform
The DCR Platform facilitates the implementation of the TRAI (Rating of Properties for Digital Connectivity) Regulations, 2024, as amended in 2026. It also incorporates the rating process prescribed in the Rating Manual 2026, issued by TRAI on 9 June 2026.
The platform provides a public interface through which consumers can access information on properties rated for digital connectivity. It brings Property Managers (PMs), registered Digital Connectivity Rating Agencies (DCRAs) and consumers onto a common digital interface.
The platform is intended to make the assessment and communication of digital connectivity at properties more transparent, accessible and standardised.
