Foundation stone laid for Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Jammu

Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Minister of State for Home G. Kishan Reddy and Minister of State, PMO, Dr. Jatinder Singh on June 13, 2021 laid the foundation stone and performed the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Majeen in the outskirts of Jammu.

  • The religious tourism in Jammu Division will get a boost with the construction of the temple. Tirumla Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will build the temple along-with the Vedic School and hospital.
  • Once developed, the TTD infrastructure will be an attraction for the pilgrims and tourists in addition to the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine and Amarnath Ji Shrine.
  • The proposed Temple comprises Sri Venkateswara Swamy main temple with consorts of Sri Andal and Sri Padmavathi sub Temples.
  • The Garbhalayams and Ardha Mandapam are proposed with South Indian granite stone, to depict the South Indian Temple Architecture.
  • Mukhamandapam is proposed with RCC framework worth cement sudai ornamental features.
