Hell Grind: A film made entirely using AI premiered at Cannes Film Festival

A new film created entirely using Artificial Intelligence (AI) premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on 21 May. The film, titled Hell Grind, is a 95-minute science-fiction movie developed by the San Francisco-based startup Higgsfield AI.

According to the company, the film was produced by a team of 15 people in just 14 days at an estimated cost of nearly 5 lakh US dollars. Higgsfield AI has described “Hell Grind” as the world’s first fully AI-generated feature film and also released its trailer online.

The movie features violent fantasy action scenes along with a storyline centred on gods and monsters. The creators claim that the film demonstrates the growing capabilities of AI in filmmaking.

Alex Mashrabov stated on social media that the project shows AI can now maintain character consistency, world coherence, and a continuous narrative arc throughout an entire feature-length film.

The premiere of “Hell Grind” has sparked discussions in the global film industry about the future role of AI in cinema, content creation, and entertainment production.
