International Association of Ultrarunners 24-Hour Asia and Oceania Championships

India scripted history at the International Association of Ultrarunners 24-Hour Asia and Oceania Championships held in Hirosaki, Japan, by winning a total of five medals and dominating the men’s category.

Amar Singh Devanda won the gold medal after covering an impressive distance of 282.881 kilometres within 24 hours. Geeno Antony secured the silver medal with a distance of 272.894 kilometres, while the bronze medal in the men’s category also went to India.

In the women’s category, the Indian team earned the bronze medal with a combined distance of 667.722 kilometres. Tenzin Dolma emerged as the top Indian performer among women, finishing fourth in the individual standings.

The championship witnessed participation from 81 athletes representing nine countries, making it a major endurance sporting event in the Asia-Oceania region.
