India jumps to 10th place in cybersecurity index

India improved its ranking from 47 to 10 in the United Nation’s ITU Global Cybersecurity Agenda (GCA). The US is ranked first, followed by the UK.

  • In 2018, India was ranked on the 47th spot.
  • With improvement, India entered the top 10 of a global cybersecurity ranking of countries, ahead of China at No.33, and Pakistan at No.79.
  • According to the International Telecommunications Union, or ITU, a specialised UN agency, the ranking is based on four pillars: legal measures, technical measures, capacity building measures and organisational measures.
