India on 6 July successfully test-fired the Agni-4 Medium-Range Ballistic Missile (MRBM) from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur in Odisha, marking another milestone in the country’s strategic missile capability.
According to the Ministry of Defence (MoD), the test was conducted under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command (SFC) and successfully validated all operational and technical parameters of the missile.
The Agni-4 is a two-stage, surface-to-surface ballistic missile powered by solid-fuel rocket motors. It has a strike range of up to 4,000 kilometres, making it a key component of India’s strategic deterrence capability.
The successful Agni-4 test further strengthens India’s indigenous missile programme and demonstrates the country’s continued focus on enhancing strategic deterrence through advanced defence technologies.
