International Day of Forests 2026

The National Zoological Park celebrated the International Day of Forests on 21 March with enthusiastic public participation, attracting around 18,000 visitors and engaging nearly 1,500 people in conservation-focused activities.

About International Day of Forests

The International Day of Forests was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012 and is observed annually on 21 March to raise awareness about the importance of all types of forests.

The day encourages countries to undertake efforts at local, national, and global levels, including activities such as tree plantation drives and awareness campaigns related to forest conservation.

Theme for 2026

The theme for 2026, “Forests and Economies,” highlights the crucial role forests play in supporting livelihoods and driving economic growth.
