Ministry of Tribal Affairs launches TribeX

The Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs has launched TribeX, a first-of-its-kind digital learning platform dedicated to tribal arts, culture, traditional knowledge, languages, and skill development.

The platform was launched by Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Shri Jual Oram, during the National Workshop on Strengthening Tribal Research Institutes (TRIs) held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

TribeX integrates a Learning Management System (LMS) and a Repository Management System (RMS) to provide a secure digital ecosystem for learning, knowledge management, and progress tracking.

The platform’s Heritage Archive currently hosts more than 5,000 multimedia resources, with plans to expand the collection to 10,000 resources, including audio recordings, videos, literature  documenting tribal festivals, oral traditions, socio-cultural practices, and indigenous knowledge from across India.

TribeX offers free certificate courses; UGC-recognised Postgraduate Diploma programmes  in tribal languages, traditional art forms, crafts, and indigenous knowledge systems.

The platform enables learners, researchers, educators, and enthusiasts worldwide to learn directly from tribal knowledge holders, master artisans, and cultural experts, ensuring authentic transmission of traditional knowledge.

Beyond education, TribeX serves as a digital repository for the documentation, preservation, and promotion of tribal languages, oral traditions, performing arts, cultural practices and indigenous knowledge systems.
