PM Modi inaugurates Samrat Samprati Museum in Gandhinagar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the Samrat Samprati Museum at Koba Tirth in Gandhinagar on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.

The museum, located within the Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra campus, is named after Samrat Samprati, the grandson of Ashoka. Samprati is revered in Jain tradition for his role in promoting non-violence and the spread of Jainism.

Key Features of the Museum

  • Developed as a repository of Jain heritage and philosophy
  • Comprises seven distinct wings, each highlighting different aspects of India’s civilisational and spiritual traditions
  • Offers a chronological journey of Jainism, showcasing its evolution and cultural impact

Officials said the museum aims to serve as an important centre for education, cultural preservation, and spiritual awareness, while also promoting tourism in the region.
