Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards (TNNAA) 2024

Why in News?
The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports announced the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards (TNNAA) 2024, recognising four individuals for outstanding achievements in adventure activities.

Key Points

• Award categories:
  • Land Adventure – Baljeet Kaur and Skalzang Rigzin
  • Water Adventure – Rimo Saha
  • Air Adventure – No awardee mentioned
  • Lifetime Achievement – Shiv Prasad Chamoli
• Award: Each recipient receives a statuette, certificate and ₹15 lakh cash prize.
• Presentation: The awards will be presented by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan along with the National Sports Awards 2025.
• Objective: To promote adventure activities among youth and encourage qualities such as:
  • Courage and endurance
  • Discipline and teamwork
  • Risk-taking ability
  • Quick and effective decision-making in challenging situations.
