World Lupus Day 2026

World Lupus Day was observed globally on 10 May to raise awareness about Lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease that affects millions of people worldwide.

The theme for 2026, “Make Lupus Visible”, highlights the need to improve understanding of the disease, whose symptoms are often misunderstood and overlooked.

Lupus occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissues and organs, leading to inflammation and damage in joints, skin, kidneys, heart, lungs and other body parts.
