9th India International Water Week (IIWW) 2026

Why in News?

The Vice-President of India, C. P. Radhakrishnan, inaugurated the 9th India International Water Week (IIWW) 2026 on 22 September 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Organised by the Ministry of Jal Shakti from 22–26 September 2026, the event is being held on the theme “Climate Resilient Water Management.”

About India International Water Week

The India International Water Week (IIWW) is a platform for discussing water-related challenges, technologies, policies and solutions through international cooperation. Earlier editions were organised as India Water Week, but the event has evolved into the India International Water Week, reflecting its growing global engagement and the increasing importance of international cooperation in addressing shared water challenges.

The Netherlands and Germany are participating as Partner Countries, while 14 States are participating as Partner States and two Central Ministries as Partner Ministries. The event brings together policymakers, experts, researchers, industry representatives and other stakeholders to promote cooperation for sustainable and climate-resilient water management.
