AI-based Satellite Imaging System – Prajna

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has received ‘Prajna’, an AI-enabled satellite imaging system developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation through its Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, to enhance real-time decision-making for security agencies.

The system uses artificial intelligence to analyse satellite images, helping in monitoring sensitive regions, detecting suspicious activities, and strengthening counter-terrorism operations, thereby improving India’s internal security framework.

Earlier, the Defence Research and Development Organisation and the Indian Navy jointly conducted four successful in-flight trials of the indigenously developed Air Droppable Container ‘ADC-150’.

The trials were carried out from the Boeing P-8I Neptune aircraft off the coast of Goa under extreme conditions.

Designed to carry a payload of 150 kg, the ADC-150 enhances naval logistics by enabling quick delivery of critical supplies, equipment, and medical aid to ships deployed far from the coast, thereby improving operational readiness and emergency response capabilities.
