Mogami-class multi-role frigates

Australia and Japan have signed a landmark $7 billion defence agreement for the supply of advanced warships, marking a significant step in deepening their strategic partnership.

Australian Defence Minister Richard Marles stated that the agreement underscores both nations’ commitment to successfully delivering the vessels and enhancing maritime capabilities.

  • Japan will supply three upgraded Mogami-class multi-role frigates to the Royal Australian Navy
