Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the impressive debut of Indian cheesemakers at the Mundial do Queijo do Brasil 2026, where India’s artisanal dairy products won four medals, including a prestigious Super Gold.
He highlighted that this achievement marks a significant milestone for India’s emergence on the global dairy stage.
Among the winners, Eleftheria Gulmarg, a Brie-style cheese, secured the Super Gold award.
Gold medals were awarded to Yak Churpi-Soft from Leh’s Nordic Farm and Eleftheria Brunost, a whey-based cheese.
The Silver medal was won by Eleftheria Kaali Miri, inspired by the Belper Knolle style, showcasing the growing quality and global competitiveness of Indian artisanal cheeses.
