The Indian Navy receives stealth frigate ‘Dunagiri’ under Project 17A

The Indian Navy has received INS Dunagiri, an advanced indigenous stealth frigate built under Project 17A, from Garden Reach Shipbuilding and Engineers Ltd (GRSE) in Kolkata.

Delivered on March 30, Dunagiri is the fifth vessel of the Nilgiri-class and the second warship constructed at GRSE. The induction marks a key milestone in the Navy’s ongoing effort to induct next-generation multi-mission frigates.

The warship is named after the earlier INS Dunagiri, which served the Navy from 1977 to 2010, carrying forward its legacy with significantly enhanced capabilities.
